About Mr. Skaff
This is my thirteenth year teaching science at Westlake High School. I currently teach two periods of Forensic Science CP and three periods of Earth Science to all grade levels. I am incredibly passionate about science and I enjoy working with students while they observe and explore the universe around them! I love studying and learning about the Earth and the universe in which we live! I earned my B.S. in Earth Systems, Science, and Policy with a concentration in Marine & Coastal Ecology from California State University, Monterey Bay. I earned my teaching credential from California Lutheran University. I earned my M.S. in Geoscience from Mississippi State University!
I've been married to my wife, Kristen, for 10 awesome years! We met while earning our teaching credentials at Cal Lutheran. I guess you could say I was pretty lucky to find a University that offers graduate degrees and marriage licenses, all in one! She currently teaches Math at Newbury Park High School so it's fun to have an intrahouse-rivalry between WHS and N.P.!! We have one awesome three-year old daughter, six-month old son, and one adorable dog, Kona, who keep us busy!
I spent my entire childhood in Thousand Oaks, California. I was fortunate enough to attend three CVUSD schools as a kid. I went to University Elementary, Los Cerritos Middle School, and Thousand Oaks High School.
When I'm not teaching, I love to watch sports, play sports, go hiking/backpacking/camping, and spend time with family and friends. I love playing almost all sports, but my favorites to play are soccer, basketball, baseball, and football. I also enjoy watching almost all sports, but my favorites to watch are soccer, football, baseball, and basketball.
